FAQs
My frequently asked questions
There’s no such question as a stupid question.
How do live guest painting work?
I arrive around 1-hour before your chosen time and set up in your dedicated area with my easel and paints. I create an area for me to hang portraits keeping making a interactive gallery wall and keeping them safe from any of the celebrations.
I start a list and ask your guests to place their names down meaning no long queues, freeing them to enjoy a drink and a dance.
I can paint live but if guests are occupied I can take a quick snap and create magic from there but I always find it more personable to paint live and get to know your guests. Think of me as an entertainer and an artist.
How do your live ceremony paintings work?
I will arrive a few hours before your ceremony to set up and start on background sketches. I would have already engaged in communication with you to source exactly what you would like. I normally work along side your photographer briefing allowing me to take references pictures to position you centre stage your painting.
The painting generally takes 8-10 hours and I allow guests to interact and following the creative process. On completion I mount and frame ready for the big reveal!
Can I have guest paintings and a ceremony painting?
I am always happy to discuss opportunities to have both. There is various ways in which I am happy to work bespoke to your needs. There is only so many hours in your day so we chat through options and what your priorities are.
Do you travel?
I am based in Hitchin, Hertfordshire and happy to travel nationally & globally. I am totally transparent with travel costs and expenses and these will be reviewed on a case by case basis.
Anything further than 30miles from my base I will make adjustments to your quote covering my travel roughly 50p per mile.
I am happy to travel further afield - Anything that will require me to stay overnight I will require expenses covering like a local hotel room (nothing fancy) and something to eat.
I love travelling further abroad - Your final quote will cover my travel and expenses, again nothing fancy but please note depending on the location I may require time to adjust to local times.
What do you need from me on the day?
I am self-sufficient, I require a small space for my own easel, ideally with some wall area to create a pop-up gallery. I will require an area that is well lit. Although I like carrots, I can’t see in the dark - Good lighting really assists me capturing details of your guests.
Once we have confirmed your booking I will send you a simple form to complete. This ensures I have everything I need before your day, you will already have all the nerves, excitement and stresses - I won’t be one of them!
How does the booking work?
You contact me with details of your wedding day. I will reply with a quote. Package details can be found on my website but these are guideless and maybe adapted taking into account location, timings and requests etc.
If you accept the quote I will send over a contract which you sign and send over a non-refundable 50% deposit which secures your booking.
I will then send you a short form to fill out allowing me to plan, organise and professionalise your package for your wedding day.
4 weeks before your wedding day you send over the remaining balance.
I’ll arrive before your wedding day begins ready to start as you and your guests arrive.
